I'm Prashant C. Trikannad, a Mumbai-based writer with a background in both print and online journalism spanning three decades. For the past eleven years, I have been working as a content writer at a reputed public relations consultancy.

I founded Chess, Comics, Crosswords in 2009 to write about books and comic books, films and television, and the occasional musings on whatever else catches my attention. Even those tend to circle back to books and comics, including the simple pleasures of browsing and buying them.

The blog's name is a nod to three pursuits that have been with me since childhood. I grew up playing chess, reading comics and solving crosswords, and in many ways all three have shaped the way I read, think and write—and how I spend time outside my day job.

I read widely and review books as often as time allows. Westerns are my first love, followed by mystery and detective fiction, espionage thrillers, political suspense, the classics, and general fiction—though I rarely read in any particular order. I also read nonfiction books.

A few years ago, I co-founded pocketfulofhappiness.com
with my wife—a feel-good site that is, in temperament, quite different from this one. Do check it out.
